I Cant Remember

I am haunted by images and feelings that have no faces, no meanings. I know who didnt like me but still I cant place their face as perpetrator. This is before time had meaning and thoughts were just pictures. Words werent fully known and not assigned to their rightful place in my mind. I hear crying, yelling, berating, some of it me. I remember being held under water in the bath tub and scared beyond imagination. I was beat repeatedly and there is no face to blame. I remember in my small mind pleading for mercy without words. Night after night I was held down in bed barely being able to breathe and as I always explain it, "climbing an endless wall of blankets". The nights were also time for nightmares and devils coming out of the black hallway, evil laughing from space somewhere. My mother was later identified as one of the perps, But I cant imagine she did it all, because I was hardly ever with her. She gave me to whoever would take me, a neighbor, an uncle, grandma, babysitter. I remember countless houses as plain as day, but not one thing that occured within them. I could take you to them even now if they still exist. How can I remember so clearly going there and nothing else? I know that my moms side of the family were all against me. I suffered constantly whenever I was with any one of them. I remember boredom, fear, and humiliation beyond measure. I would literally be physically ill when I was to be in their care. My stuffed animals became my protectors and I drowned in them at night. Maybe if the mean ones couldnt find me amongst all those animals, I would be OK. One in particular was my champion, a very large purple poodle that my good grandma gave me to hug when I was hurting. Purple poodle became my safety amulate against all evil and if I hugged it tight enough, maybe it would all go away. That poodle was the butt of many jokes and teasing by the mean ones. It hurt me to have purple poodle treated badly.
The images of things, some of them genital, haunt me still. I will wake up gasping for air with the kind of fear one would have just before death. It continued in life as panic attacks that had no end. The sadness too continued. I dont ever remember being truly and purely happy like childhood is supposed to be. This continued on as depression so deep and dark, I couldnt find my way out of it. Anger also developed later and I became the perpetrator to friends and animals. I tore up every baby doll I ever had because I hated them so much. But I knew this was wrong, so I removed myself from the stimulus and the situation. I was afraid of myself, afraid of what I might do, afraid of what I might become. Life was never normal for me and I dont even know what normal feels like. Everything I know today, I taught myself because there wasnt any help for me. Most people dont even know my history, and when they ask why I am this way, Im at a loss as what to say. Ive been judged, hated, and feared by people who dont even know me. Ive been punished for things I didnt do. And the depression is ever present.
Maybe something can be learned from this posting. Think again that a child wont remember something because theyre too little. Think again that even one bad incident wont haunt them for the rest of their life. Many will be left perplexed as to why they are the way they are, with no faces or meaning behind it. They will think they are just inherently bad and start living up to their self image. They will recieve outside reinforcement from everyone around them that yes, they are indeed very bad and strange. They wont be able to argue this point because they wont remember anything except nightmares and demons. Maybe my gift is to be a voice for these children.

Get Paid?

Next da Vinci question: How can I get paid for what I love? Hmmm, good question. When you are an artist, its not good enough to create, and they will come, much less buy. This is the biggest bugger question that I have been dealing with right now. Lets just get the economy card out of the way first thing. Im not falling for that excuse. There are plenty of people who have plenty of money, and a good quantity of them buy art. Its all about getting into the right venue, and the right market. It is who you know and whether or not you have the cahonies to go for it in spite of what your checking account says. By that I mean in art, as in most businesses, it takes money to make money. Being an artist is expensive when you are promoting yourself properly. There are various dues and fees, art materials you must buy, advertising (yes, I said advertising), shipping costs, travel expenses, etc.... Oh yeah, if you are to do it properly, that is whats involved. And at the same time you must keep a roof over your head, food in your stomach, keep transportation (big enough to cart things around), and all the other necessities of life. And they are bare bone necessities. No dinners out, movies, lattes, new clothes, or any other fun things in life. It should be good enough for the artist to art. If you are not happy with that scenario, then forget about being successful as an artist. Admittedly, there are flukes of nature, like the paint thrower who is "discovered", or the artist that just happens to be in the right place, at the right time, meeting the right people, or then theres the person who is set financially already. That person will have to be particularly hungry to be an artist, because the biggest motivator is gone, making money to survive.
So to get back to the question, what do I have to do to get paid for what I love? All of the above and more things I was too lazy to mention, because there is more. I havent even touched on the emotional aspect of it all. And as you know by now, Im bi poler with depression and anxiety, so its double hard for me to fight the good fight. In my wildest dreams, I would say I want a patron, who believes in me and supports me in my baby steps to success, or a mentor who opens all needed doors for me. Wouldnt that be wonderful!
Oh, and I forgot, it doesnt matter much as to whether you are a good artist. Great artists are a dime a dozen. And there are plenty of artists who became successful by just throwing paint at a canvas, or leaving it blank. And yeah, that truly chaffes my ass (my mothers favorite expression). But life is indeed seemingly unfair. You can control it to a large degree, but its still a crap shoot. Life is what we make it.

Please Help Me God

I can hardley see to type, I cant see through the tears. I have no where else to go today other than this pathetic blog. Criticize me if you must, but its either this or have a grand anxiety attack. If you dont want to hear my pissing and moaning, Im warning you now, dont read this, because Im about to have a big pity party. Im going to ramble, so dont criticize content or grammer. This is for me, and you can watch if you want to. Why do difficult things always come clumped together. Im already bummed on my yearly bum date of fathers day. I didnt have a father and I have absolutely nothing to celebrate or appreciate. That biological mass of skin walking around in Wisconsin is my sperm doner. He molested me when I was a baby. He did nothing for me. He gave me no money, no food, no home, no mother, no attention, and no love. As a young adult, he quickly developed Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, than paranoia, and then all sorts of disorders too numerous to keep track off. (Just to make a note, the maybe buyers just walked in my front door, the other bad thing happening) Mr sperm bag stole from me, lied to me, and used me as income. I also inherited his lovely genes for mental illness. Right now Im so livid, I dont care what Im putting down. DONT CARE!!!!!!! I grew up not being able to celebrate father or mothers day. She died when I was 9, from a years long painful illness. And when she wasnt busy being sick, she was beating me. I really dont know why I miss her, but I do. Now Im losing the only home, the only stability I have ever had. No one realizes what a catastrophic event this is for me. You cant say something better is coming, because nothing ever did. This house was my good thing. And now my home will be gone AGAIN!!!! Im 56, I dont have much time left to "get happy". This was pretty much it. I am really starting to get mad at people telling me to get over it. They have not lived in my shoes. There is even so much more that I could say about my life that would shock you. But today Im concerned about my home. You just dont realize that this is literally all I have. Im not close to family, I cant work because I have BPD. I feel like a fly in a tornado. I have developed such a complex about "home" that this is a death to me. My security and my love is going again. It makes me feel like I dont deserve anything good, or to be loved and nurtured. I feel like such a scum bag. A total failure that doesnt even have the intelligence to stop trying to make things better. I feel like a FOOL. Why dont I give up. What is it gonna take to kill me. Im like the energizer bunny. Why doesnt that dam stinkin thing die? That thing in me that keeps me getting back up like a punching clown bag is an enigma. I totally dont understand it. Do I like pain? Why cant I give up? Im so totally awash in emotion, I dont know where to turn. My anxiety attacks started when I was 10. All I wanted was Grandma, and I was always being kept from her. When I didnt have Grandma, I couldnt breathe, my heart would explode with adrenaline, and I felt like I would catch on fire, I was so hot. I lived much of my adolesence and teenage years that way. Really wishing I could kill myself and make this world stop. Just stop. But because I had developed a morbid fear and phobia of death, I had to stay and struggle. I AM NOT EXAGERATING!!!! To live was painful! In my 20's, I was starting to get a handle on it a little bit, or maybe I was just getting used to it, I dont know. All I know was life became barely bearable. The feeling I have for my home is the same feeling I had for Grandma. My survival depended upon it. Its all being brought up again. This house is Grandma. I named my business after her home. I named my dog after her. She was the only person who loved me deeply. I really credit her singularly for saving my life. I would have just died from what they call "failure to thrive". Babies will die if they dont get love. I never had it from the very beginning. I really wanted to keep this blog business related, but I am my business. My life has made me who I am. This is my identity, just as my home was. All tied in to Grandma, Gardener Park, home, Lily, artist, me. I stated in the beginning of this blog, that it would be about me being an artist with BPD living in Gardener Park. So how could I not include this? Its my reality.
